This is the second video I published dedicated to artists of all genres.
Its main focus is on the ability of the artist to become his or her own support system especially in times when it is lacking personally and/or professionally.
This video also discusses how we have everything within us to be the alchemists of our own Life experience.
“We all have a similar story where we feel like we haven’t been supported in our endeavors.
My response to that is…
Normally when you don’t have the support of others it rarely has something to do with you.
It really has to do with another person’s viewpoint of what they think your trying to achieve or not achieve.
And very often that is a false perception.
However, support, of course it is important, but before you can get the support of anybody else, you have to get the support of yourself.
And really understanding that everything and EVERYTHING you want to realize in your life is in your own responsible hands.
You have to be accountable for that which you desire.
You have to be your own cheerleader.
You have to be your own teacher.
You have to be your own healer.
You have to be your own support system.
You have to be your own best friend.
And if any of those are lacking you have some serious work to do to see how you can fulfill those roles for yourself.
You know, I really believe that we have been given everything to achieve that which we desire.
And sometimes life gives us obstacles in order for us to realize our own power.
To realize that we are capable of taking the most heinous circumstances and transforming them into our blessing.
And transforming them from coal into a diamond.
You know, if I listened to everybody that told me what my outcome was going to be I’d be dead.
But I took everything I had in myself to really go in and understand what my demons were (and I am still doing it…it is a process).
But understanding what in me is allowing these obstacles to keep happening?
What in me is keeping me from understanding my full potential?
What in me is allowing the world to feel dark?
What in me is allowing the world to feel limited?
And once I started to allow myself to look at those circumstances that I am allowing to live in my head I started to be able to transform them.
Little by little.
That definitely comes with growing pains.
But throughout that whole process the thing that I have learned is that the more I depended on other people the more I gave my power away.
The more I thought the answer was out there the more I needed more answers.
The more I turned in the more I started realizing that everything and EVERTHING already resided within me.
I just needed the balls to trust myself.
I needed the courage to know that I am enough.
I needed the heart to understand that I am my own healer.
I needed the strength to look at myself in the mirror and say “Ya got some work to do!”.
And then have the will to actually do that work.
You see, we are taught that everything we need resides somewhere “out there”.
We are taught that somebody else has the answer.
We are taught that if you follow this book it is going to find the way for you.
We are taught that if you go to this doctor he is going to have the answer for you.
We are taught that if you go to this guru, or this mentor, or this person or that person, they are going to give you the answer to your life.
But what we are not told is that the answer we are looking for IS US!
We are our own mirror but we have to be willing to look in that mirror.
We are our own path but we have to be willing to walk our path.
We are our own salvation if we are willing to allow ourself to see that we truly do have the power to be our own salvation.
We are the very thing that either gets in the way of our desires or the very thing that sets us free to experience that which we desire.
And this isn’t some self help bullshit.
This is actually our birthright.
This is actually what we’ve been given.
No matter what the circumstances are, there is always a way if there is a will.
As long as you have accountability for yourself…
As long as you have responsibility for yourself…
As long as you have the courage to look at where you may need some transformation…
As long as you have the self love to want to change for the better…
You can achieve anything.
You are a creative being by the nature of how you were created.
So knowing that, as a creative being, you have the ability to create that which you desire.
You have the ability to create alchemy in your own life.
You have the ability to be a warrior of that which you want to experience for your best and highest good.
The only thing that stands in our way is our ego and what we are taught marrying themselves to say that we are not enough.
And the truth of the matter is we are more than enough.
We have always been more than enough.”
We are living in trying times.
Many may want to deny this fact, but it is my opinion that those who do are simply sleepwalking.
Everywhere we turn we are being faced with issues that threaten the core of our wellbeing.
Our environment is in a complete shambles.
We see Mother nature crying out as its beautiful creatures are withering away into devastating numbers or are now just a memory.
Reefs are dying, glaciers are melting, and the air has the bitter scent of industrial waste floating around in it.
Our food is now a product of test tubes in which we need to be more careful of its poisons rather than trust its nutrition.
And where there is accessibility to healthy eating, we need to take out a loan to afford the costs.
And then there is us as a collective.
Men, women, and little tiny children are being tortured and killed right in front of our eyes.
Our priorities have shifted.
We have become obsessed with fortune, fame, competition, power, and divisiveness than we have of what is best for us as inhabitants of this world that has been gifted to us.
I mean, there is a little red button of hate available for pressing at any moment should we get so pissed off that we decide to obliterate everything.
That is how far we have gone.
Things have to change.
It is no longer effective to speak about light, love, and unity without being active.
We are throwing out these words but rarely are we living them.
They have become more of a costume than they have a piece of our own flesh.
These words have become a commercial for selling ideas, books, memberships, websites, and creating so called famous gurus rather than using their active form as medicinal purposes for our global society.
As a collective, we need to start to scrutinize very carefully where we are and what we are doing that is contributing to the enormous amount of strife that is occurring throughout the world.
Each and everyone of us must take responsibility for changing this frightening dynamic that we are faced with on a daily basis.
We must look at our own thought patterns and behaviors and be willing to become aware of where we may have been taught incorrectly and be willing to make those changes for the benefit of all of us.
This is not easy and it takes many growing pains as our ego deconstructs and we start to see truths that have been hidden to us by unconsciousness.
But we have no choice.
Everything is riding on this shift.
It is our responsibility to become that which we are fighting for rather than mirroring that which we are against.
We need to connect, converse, and be present in ways greater than that which we perceive as adversity.
We need to practice connection, compassion, understanding, and kindness; not just share the idea.
As a species that has been blessed with such beautiful intelligence, we need to use it for our expansion and not our destruction.
It is up to us, the human race (and if you are reading this, that includes you) to keep our minds, hearts, and spirits open to mend our brokenness and recalibrate for a beautiful tomorrow.
We can no longer just speak words of change and transformation.
We have to BECOME them.
Each and everyone of us must BE the lighthouse in this storm.
It is so easy for us to go through our everyday life sleepwalking.
We become part of the herd.
We listen, believe, and become reactionary to what’s shown and said.
We get lost in the illusions that smother us into submission.
Our defenses go up and we unconsciously are in attack mode.
We can feel this all around us.
We see it every day on the news and throughout the world.
There’s so much anger, rage, hatred, deception,… the list goes on.
We’ve become too comfortable with all the darkness.
It doesn’t make sense.
It’s backwards.
We’ve become more fearful of love, then it’s actual opposite.
We’re scared to show it, we’re scared to say it, and even scared to receive it.
We’re so afraid that the vulnerability that comes with love will destroy us, when in reality it’s the only thing that strengthens us and build us up as a humanity.
So with all the political and social unrest that’s going on in the world, there must be a wake up call as a collective humanity that is greater, louder, and more powerful than this unthinkable unrest.
We need to get back to what’s real and true.
The signs are all around us.
We’re not the sum of what we’re told, and we’re definitely not the accumulation of everything we are taught.
We’re more than that.
Love is who we are, it’s what we’re made of, and it’s where we come from. Anything opposite of that, is a labyrinth of illusion.
It’s deception at the most basic level.
When really considered, EVERYTHING we do in life has love at the core level.
Every action we take somehow someway is about love.
Either getting it or not getting it. Either giving it or not giving it.
Whether it’s receiving it or giving it, it’s all about love.
LOVE is who we are.
It always has and always will be.
Fact check that as a REAL political statement!
After coaching on set a few days ago I was RE-minded, yet again, that true star quality comes from the actor’s ability to reveal truth, mask-free, without apologies.
To show the world our individual light without trying to fit into a blueprint of what is “expected”.
Casting directors, directors, and producers are exhausted of seeing the same old performance and quite frankly become disheartened by the dime a dozen approach to the work.
Despite what many may think, the industry is not looking for a carbon copy of the next big star.
It is hungry for someone different that pushes boundaries, captivates the masses, and radiates individuality.
They are looking for that brave soul who shows up fully as they are and thus is able bring themselves to any given project.
It is crucial for us to arrive in our work with all our chaos, messiness, imperfections, and grit without limiting ourself to ideas of what we think is right or correct.
Hiding all of these amazing colors of ourself is in vain as every role we will ever play will be rooted in our given character doing what they can to improve their own life circumstances.
If this is what is required of the role, then it goes without saying, it is demanded of us.
We are the vehicle to bring that written character to life through the accumulation of our own life experiences because we and our imagination are all we have. Our truth is crucial to this business and our brand.
When we truly commit to this way of working, we will begin to experience more freedom, excitement, stimulation, and opportunity.
That’s true stardom!
